The End

Is revenge an answer? Can I take an eye for an eye?
If you have hurt me can I take it out on your brethren?

This story is a first person narrative of a feeling close to the hearts of millions in India.

The story is at ~
The End

Dear Aditya,

If you are wondering why I have not commented right there on the blog, it is because I was not able to open the comments section, I seem to be having this problem with your story blog. But I read 'The End', and I wanted to pass my comments on. Here they are.

It was crisp, and probably it was the crispness which made it so effective.

"I only hope that the officials take this for what it is and they do not misconstrue it to be another act of terrorism by some foolish Muslim."

Summarizes the plot, and the character in a single sentence. Kudos!

I believe the correct expression is 'apple of one's eye' and not 'eyes'.

This story reiterates my longstanding belief that everything man does is with a selfish motive, because had his family not been affected by the riots, your protagonist would not have lifted a finger, shed a tear, wasted a thought.

Good one.

As suchi says , it was crisp...final moments,
and somehow reminds me of the girls who were burnt in the bus, and how one poltician kept quiet bout that.

And now tat , thre ppl were burnt in that news paper office, the same person is having a field day in NDTV..

AS for as we are concerned, We dont react, unless we are concerned.

and 'the end'?..:-) two minds in one..

No one has any right to end the life of some one. This amount to india having 1billion courts, one billion judges and one billion accused.
May the author tries to justify the action, but it is act of terrorism in different form.
When doen in a group, it is terrorism, one done by an individual it is revenge.
But the people affected are the ones least connected with the event.
They are as helpless and the affected himself. So the story is crfisp by the nucleus is not acceptable .

@ Dad,
This is something that I thought of. What is the difference between a revenge and terrorism. I pray that you notice the fact that in acts of terrorism, the offender, in other words the terrorist, is never actually offended by the victim. He has a perceived offense, for which he seeks retribution.
In an act of revenge it is an eye for an eye.

If that is the case, we may not be left with enough space including the sea area tto bury the people affectyed by revenge. somewhere it needs to be stopped for mankind to survive and continue.
That is what ahimsa is all about.
Even Krishna tried all possibilities before deciding to go for a war.
Have all of us reached that stage. Nature is a beautiful leveller.
Let us leave the retribution to GOD. If you dont believe in ONe Mother Nature.
Good Luck

There can never be a justification for punishing innocent lives for our the pain that we undergo. As far inflicting pain on the avenger is concerned well i guess it depends on the degree of pain that we inflict.
But taking another person's life , there can never be justification for it.
And God is the protector of humanity. So he would understand our pains and sorrows. That i think is his purpose. However views on god are each person's perspective.
